Before I dive in, I want to make a quick case for mentors. Here’s my current thought: The world would be a better place if we all had a mentor (and were mentoring). There’s even data to prove it. People with mentors are happier at their current jobs than those without People who served as mentors experienced lower levels of anxiety and described their job as more meaningful than those who did not mentor [HBR]Mentors found that mentoring enhanced the meaningfulness of their work [HBR]Finding a mentor vs a high-level mentor are two different things. Finding a high-level mentor, is both a science and an art.
